*We do not have a separate pricing guide for wedding cakes and party cakes because we believe that cake is cake. Because of this, wedding serving sizes are larger than most bakeries.
*Extra charges are applied for design and logistical elements.
*Shaped, carved, and 3D cakes start at around $12.00 a serving.
*Basic cupcakes are available for $2.50 a piece. Cupcakes with fillings are $2.75 a piece and cupcakes with cupcake toppers start at $2.75 depending on design. Mini cupcakes are $1 a piece.
*Quotes are valid for 2 weeks and are subject to change unless a $200 nonrefundable deposit is received to hold the date. For cakes under $200, the balance is required to hold the date.
*Dummy cakes are available to increase the size of a cake without paying full price for servings.
*A minimum of a 6-inch cake or one dozen cupcakes is required per order.
*Delivery/set up is available for an extra charge. We are based in South Jordan but deliver all over the valley. There is no charge for pick up orders, however, for every 30 minutes that you are late to pick up a cake, there will be an additional $10 late fee. (Sorry, I can't wait around all day :)
*There is no extra charge for ordering multiple flavors if you're ordering multiple tiers. I encourage variety for you and your guests.
*Our custom cakes may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens.

All of our cakes are unique and customized to fit your needs so we do not have set prices for the cakes on our website. Cakes are priced according to several different criteria. Our wedding serving sizes are larger than most traditional bakeries since we only have one serving size chart. Whether you eat this at a wedding, at a party, or in your living room, it's all the same base price by size. You can see starting prices listed above by size and number of servings.
Factors that add to the price include intricate fondant decorations, painting, hand piped details, or other time consuming design elements, along with delivery/set up if you would like me to deliver the cake.
Price estimates will be provided when orders are placed, but final prices are not set until the design is completed. This quote is only valid for two weeks and a $200 deposit is required to hold the price and date. For now, we take cash, check, Venmo, Square Cash, Zelle, or credit cards via Square. There is a $25 fee for bounced checks.
Cake orders must be placed over email so that we can make sure to keep all of the details in written form. You can click on the "Order a Cake" link above to email me directly from the website and I will respond asap.
The most important piece of information is the date of your event. We have limited space and so we book our cakes on a first come, first deposit, first serve basis. Feel free to email us with any design ideas or inspiration pictures that you have in mind. A non-refundable $200 deposit is required to reserve your date and the balance is due at least one week before the event.
We can only accommodate a limited number of cakes per week, depending on the complexity of the orders, so we suggest that you reserve your date as soon as possible with a $200 deposit. Most of our cakes are booked three weeks to several months in advance. There is a minimum of a 6-inch cake or a dozen cupcakes per order.
Right now, we are not offering formal cake tastings in person but we can occasionally offer cake tasting mini samples with flavors of your choice for some orders. Email SaltCakeCity@gmail.com for more information.
Many of our cakes are covered in homemade marshmallow fondant, which is a sugar dough made from powdered sugar and melted mini-marshmallows. If you’ve ever had fondant on another cake, you know how badly traditional fondant tastes. Marshmallow fondant, on the other hand, tastes delicious and looks just as great as regular fondant since it's actually just melted marshmallows with more sugar. We cover all of our cakes in buttercream before covering them in a thin layer of marshmallow fondant, and some designs won't even require marshmallow fondant. For those of you who think you don't like fondant, we encourage you to try ours. We've turned many to the dark side!
Cake is essentially sugar mixed with sugar & dairy, iced with sugar and then covered in sugar. Unfortunately, I do not make cakes that are sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan at this time except stacked watermelon cakes with berries (email me for pictures). Additionally, I am unable to accommodate anyone with strict nut allergies since our products do come into contact with these allergens.
Yes, we can deliver and set up your cake in Utah. No, we cannot ship cakes outside of Utah. Delivery prices are calculated according to total travel distance. Generally, delivery and set up to:
- Salt Lake City is around $70-90
- Bountiful, Millcreek Canyons, and Orem are around $75-90
- Layton and Park City are around $95-125
Please contact me for specific prices on delivery. There is no charge for pick up orders, however, every 30 minutes that you are late to pick up a cake, there is a $10 late charge. (Sorry! I can't wait around all day :)
Salt Cake City is not responsible for any damage to the order after setup is complete. You are responsible for providing an appropriate environment and sturdy table for the cake. Be aware that the optimal environment for a cake is inside an air conditioned room, away from direct sun rays. Cakes can weigh anywhere from 15-80 pounds so a sturdy and level table is required. Nobody wants a cake wreck! If flowers are provided, you acknowledge that flowers are not a food product and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. Salt Cake City is not responsible for any changes or damages made to the cake by a florist or flowers.
If you or someone you trust picks up and sets up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Salt Cake City possession. I usually suggest having someone hold the cake for the drive back and that the cake be refrigerated until around 30 minutes before the party or reception.
